OFWs in Italy request Sunday operating hours at Philippine Embassy and Consulates in Italy

Press Release:
September 20, 2015
A migrant OFW group in Rome has requested the Philippine Embassy in Rome and the consulate in Milan to open on Sundays so that working OFWs in Italy can attend to their passports and other documentation needed by their families in the Philippines.

The OFW Family Party List Chapter in Italy represented by Datuk (Sir) Felix Mendoza Landicho Jr., KRSS Chapter President formally presented a letter to the current Ambassador Domingo Pradiz Nolasco Philippine Ambassador to Italy and San Marino to open the embassy and consulate office on Sundays so that thousands of Filipinos working in Italy as full-time carers or household workers can take care of their requirements like passports and authentication of their documents.

In the same letter request Mr. Landicho sought the approval of Ambassador Nolasco the authentication of documents to be free of charge for OFWs as this in additional expense for the OFWs noting that the decline of the Euro has affected their living expenses in Italy.

The OFW Family Party List Italy Chapter was recently opened by Mr. Landicho after his meeting with the founder of the OFW Family Club Party List, Ambassador Roy V. Seneres now Party-list Representative in the House of Representatives.
